Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose and repair desktops, laptops, servers, and peripheral devices (printers, monitors, etc.).
- Perform component-level repairs (motherboards, hard drives, memory, power supplies, etc.).
- Replace defective parts and conduct system upgrades.
- Software Troubleshooting & Installation
- Install, configure, and update operating systems and common software applications.
- Remove malware, viruses, and troubleshoot system performance issues.
- Ensure proper data backup and recovery procedures.
- Customer Support & Service
- Provide technical support to internal staff or external clients, both onsite and remotely.
- Maintain detailed repair records and service logs.
- Explain repair issues and solutions in a clear, professional manner.
- Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on computer systems.
- Recommend upgrades and improvements to enhance performance and security.
- Inventory & Documentation
- Manage spare parts inventory and request supplies when needed.
- Document repair procedures, test results, and troubleshooting steps.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (CompTIA A+, Microsoft, Cisco preferred).
- Proven experience as a Computer Technician, IT Support, or similar role.
- Solid knowledge of hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and networking basics.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment (up to 50 lbs).
